André Riehl began the practice of Yoga at about 11 years old, then studied it intensively from 1972.
Traveling the roads of India in search of traditional instructors, he will have the opportunity to study several aspects of the inner approach with ascetics outside of all worldly life, as well as with famous personalities and great figures of spirituality such as J. Krishnamurti or Ma Ananda Mayee.
It is finally the decisive meeting with Chandra Swami of the lineage of the Udasins that will allow him to integrate all the teachings received previously.
Back in Europe, he spent several years studying the pedagogy of teaching according to the views of the schools of Swami Shivananda, Lucien Ferrer, Nil Haoutoff and Sri T.K.V. Desikachar, before starting teaching himself.
Author of «Prince des Forêts», an adaptation of the Râmayanâ, two video films «Yoga Traditionnel 1 & 2» and a CD of sanskrit songs «Mantra Sādhana», he has also translated about ten books on yoga and spiritual approach.
Appointed President of the Federation of Traditional Yoga in 1992, he is a teacher trainer of Yoga, he applies to transmit authentic teachings combining ancestral knowledge and contemporary knowledge.
